Imaginary Charlatans

Arts Nomades

This year, Arts Nomades descends on Château d’Attre to present their show “Imaginary Charlatans”.

Trestle-stage theatre in the 17th-century tradition — but with ruffs made from ventilation ducting, a very inspired author manipulated by a puppeteer, two generous sisters who rarely see eye to eye, medicinal herbs strewn everywhere, foils in full bloom, a conspiratorial and libidinous father-in-law, a left-wing macho lover and his progressive pig, a musician innkeeper, and a mysterious "“fabricoteuse” (don’t bother looking it up — you won’t find it in any dictionary). Who is pulling whose strings? Who are the Charlatans, and who are the pigs ?

The set is built, the quill is inked, the show is ready to begin. All that remains is for the characters to accept the story being imposed on them.

Cast : Andreas Christou, France Everard, Aurélie Goudaer, Aude Droessaert, Lucile Vignolles, Jerôme Vilain, Monique Gelders & the puppet Almost-Molière
